Welcome to the Blues at Bardies
website...
.....which we
hope will inspire you to come along to a weekend of music and fun in the foothills of the Pyrenees.
When: 4-6th August 2006
(Starts Friday evening; ends Sunday evening)
Where: Château de Bardies, a rambling
16th century château set amongst rolling hills
in the middle of nowhere, about an hour south of Toulouse,
in the department of Ariège, SW France.
Our idea is to create the atmosphere of a live music festival combined with the intimacy of
a private party, where guests and musicians can relax with friends and family in attractive surroundings.
There will of course be plenty
of great live music, from Friday night through Sunday evening, but there
will also be plentiful opportunities for
eating and drinking and generally having a
good time. There will also be a variety of fringe events, such as yoga, massage, skate boarding and, of course, swimming and sun-bathing.

While the numbers involved preclude us offering comprehensive catering for the entire weekend, there will be a complimentary Moroccan BBQ on the Sunday and food will also be available for purchase from local traders on site on Saturday. There's also a cheap but decent restaurant run by our neighbours adjacent to the site. Free drinks* will also be available for the whole weekend.
In order to get this project even close to economic viability (translation: to minimise the subsidy from yours truly), we are obliged to seek a financial contribution from our guests of £125 a head**.
We have a limited number of places available and we are now filling up fairly quickly. So it would help us enormously with our planning if you could indicate your interest in attending as soon as possible by completing the Registration form and, better still, by following the resulting links to the PayPal page.
The rest of this site should furnish
you with all the information you need to find out where
we are, how to get there, what’s on and where to
stay... Bring the family; bring your friends. Be there!
* Wine, beer and soft drinks only..... and if you want to drink Dom Pérignon or Château Latour, bring your own!
** No charge for under-18s and students if part of a group including at least one paying guest.
